My father recently passed away and I have never had to handle anything like this before. A Neptune employee came to my dad’s house and we handled all the paperwork in a half hour. It is such a difficult time, trying to figure out how to honor a loved one’s wishes just after they have gone.  It’s been a couple of weeks now and I still feel like I’m walking into walls.  But I feel confident that things through the Neptune Society have been handled competently, compassionately, and carefully.  Today I received Mom’s ashes along with the documentation and death certificates.   I can’t thank the staff there enough for helping me through this difficult time.

My salesman was a very pleasant, knowledgeable young man. His sales approach was genuine, in that he listens to his customers’ concerns, thoroughly explains the program components and doesn’t pressure the consumer into an impulse purchase. After the presentation, I waited a few days to review the documents before committing to a purchase. I completed my portion of the paperwork prior to my salesman’s return and the transaction was completed within minutes. My contract and urn are in a secure place within my home known to select family members. One wallet card is in the cremation kit (urn), the other is in my wallet. I definitely recommend Neptune Society for anyone’s cremation needs.

We bought pre-need plans a couple of years ago. My wife just passed. I am so glad that we had a pre-need plan. After she died in hospice care, Neptune Society was called and arrived in short order. They gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes and then prepared her for transport. They were very understanding and compassionate. This helped to ease our sadness as the realization set in. She was wheeled from the hospice center with dignity. We were informed of the next steps that would occur and told us that we would receive a call from the Neptune Society office. Monica Conroy, Funeral Director, called and arranged a time for me to come and finalize the paperwork, etc. She was very pleasant, understanding, sympathetic and professional. She guided me through the process of the death certificates, the coroner’s permit, the time of the cremation and when my wife would be ready for pickup. She expedited the cremation process due to our time constraints so that the remains would be available for the memorial service. She answered all of our questions in a very timely manner and I was very comfortable in Neptune’s services. Her help and guidance were greatly needed and appreciated. My interactions with the other staff in the office were quite pleasing as they were also very professional. We are grateful to Neptune Society and would not hesitate to recommend their services to others.

When Neptune Society says they will take care of you, believe them.  In this difficult time of loss, they are caring, informative, and respectful during the entire process.  When the family or spouse is dealing with the loss, and arranging for the next steps seems too great of a task to think about, Neptune takes care of it all for you. My parents purchased a pre-need plan years before they would need it, and when the time came to use it, we weren’t sure what to expect from them.  Boy were we happy they had the forethought to plan this ahead of time.  Our whole experience was positive with exceptional service.  We were lucky to have Sarah Sebby from their Downers Grove office take care of us every step of the way.  She was absolutely wonderful.  I would recommend this company to everyone.

My oldest brother had signed up with Neptune and he has now passed away. They did an excellent job with him. They called me, told me he passed away and that they were picking him up. I had a couple of things to get to them and I did it that day. We photographed our ID for the coroner, and I emailed that to him real quick, and a couple of other things he wanted, and he got it going. There was something for a couple of hundred dollars and I gave him a MasterCard number. He put it down, charged me and away we went. They emailed me back, and everything was fine and taken care of. About three or four days later, I received his ashes. It was very efficient. Information was communicated and everything went really well.

This was such a difficult time in our lives but Christopher Tavonatti made this process seamless. He kept us up to date on each step along the way. He was always informing us about what was next. I’ve never experienced customer service like this. This is such a sad time in our lives, so I am thankful for him.

Rosina at the Rolling Meadows, Il location was most caring and pleasant and did everything possible to help my family and me at the time of my husband’s death. She went above and beyond in getting everything processed in a speedy way. I felt very overwhelmed since I never had to do this before, but Rosina explained everything and I totally was able to depend on her to handle everything. Neptune Society was wonderful to work with, my cousin had her plans already made and my Aunt wanted some things changed and they helped us every step of the way from allowing us to call them late at night to first thing in the morning and being sure we had all the paperwork we needed and assisting us in completing it. My younger brother dealt with Neptune cremation society on the north side of Chicago. What can I say about the Neptune Society and the most wonderful Chris Bump and his staff? From my first phone call to inquire about the prepaid services, I was impressed. My husband was very ill and in hospice care, so a representative came to my home to explain everything to me from start to finish. Everyone involved was so professional but also so lovely to deal with. Michelle came to my house to take care of the paperwork and then referred me to the Chris at the Downer’s Grove office, who handled the rest of all my questions, concerns and worries. When my mother was critically ill, we already knew she wanted the Neptune society to handle her cremation. I was able to speak with someone while my mother was entering hospice care and they handled everything when the time came. Rosina Lapietra at the Rolling Meadows office answered my questions and provided excellent support. At such an emotional time, Neptune society made the arrangements very simple.

I was so glad that we prepaid my husband’s cremation with the Neptune Society.   When I got the call from the nursing home that they were doing CPR, I remembered to grab his wallet on the way out.   When I got there and they confirmed he was gone and asked what I wanted to do I simply handed them his membership card.  I was then able to go home and know everything would be taken care of.   It was also a comfort for the last 12 years while he was still traveling to know that if something happened while we were in another state I wouldn’t have to think about what to do.

They made arrangements immediately, were available on the weekend, were empathetic, and very professional. Our daughter in Texas whose husband is in the military told us about Neptune Society. We were told that they got the job done efficiently and inexpensively. I also started asking questions and apparently, people all felt the same way about it. So, I went with Neptune and most of my interaction was with Sarah who was the funeral director. She came to our home three times and she was lovely. Anything we needed or wanted or any questions we had, she had answers for us right away. Then, when Cadet passed and the hospice or nurse contacted Neptune for a pick-up, those people were lovely too. My dear friend Robert died in January shortly after I moved from Illinois to Arizona. It was difficult planning his burial and cremation requests long distance. Karen ** was very helpful during an emotional time. Neptune Society was very patient and professional and I recommend their services.

I had arranged for my own cremation so that the children would not have to be concerned about it. I went with Neptune when I decided to do it for myself and it was trouble-free. The rep Karen was a wonderful person and was no-pressure. It’s very difficult when you’re at the hospital and you have to make that kind of a call, but she allowed us to have all the time in the world to get things together. She helped us a great deal. That’s not a job that many people can do, and she has the perfect personality for it. I got the preplanning service for myself and for Brian, she presented the options and we chose one of them. The people involved were all very helpful. I like the fact that it’s over and finished. All my two daughters have to do when I pass away is to just access the paperwork and call Neptune. Some of my friends are interested in the cremation and I’ve also told them about the Neptune Society.

Having used Neptune twice within a six-month span, I have experienced professional, comforting and thorough guidance through all aspects of a process in which I had been completely unfamiliar, helping to ease the stress during a time of heightened emotions. As if losing a loved one isn’t difficult enough, my husband’s passing was unexpected and late on a Saturday evening. I was unprepared and at a loss. My Mother recommended Neptune Society and am so grateful she did. They were so helpful and made everything happen. Christopher is a comfort to work with, guided me through everything, fully explained the pricing, and was in contact with me through every step of the process. Not only will I refer others but I plan on making my own prearrangement’s with Christopher and the Neptune Society.

My Aunt passed away suddenly. She was Mentally Handicapped. We had everything paid for except the cost of cremation. We could not afford the cost that the funeral home was charging us, and Neptune Society cost was great and she is at rest now.

Paula Sexton in Palatine, IL, was very compassionate and helpful. We didn’t need the services of a full funeral home, the expense seemed quite high, so this option was very comforting. We were pleasantly surprised to see the vessel that our father’s ashes were placed in. It was very beautiful and dignified. Paula even suggested that we could have 2 separate bags of ashes if we planned to spread his ashes in more than one location. She gave the answers to questions that we didn’t even know to ask. I felt that the service was first-rate even though the cost factor was much lower than a typical funeral home. The care we received from Paula was even better than the funeral home we initially contacted, though they were the ones that provided the information on Neptune Society. We just felt much more comfortable and were very glad to have been lead to you.

I had received an offer in the mail for an estimate from the Neptune Society. Since it had been my plan to have a cremation anyway I decided to send in the offer and have the rep come over to my home and we could talk about it.
The representative / salesman Jim was spot on time and had all the information at his fingertips. This is NOT a complicated process. You can get the basic plan which covers you within 75 miles of your home and you can add a supplemental for under a grand that covers you WHEREVER you may wind up when the time comes.
The agreements are simple, short and straight forward. If you can read quickly it is possible to read the whole agreement right then and there. No legal mumbo jumbo just common sense stuff. You give them your basic information like who to contact and other personal info. It’s a one page deal.
I paid right then and there. Simpler for me. You can pay over time or use a credit card. The representative, Jim was the star of the show. Very friendly and not pushy, explained everything very precisely. Jim left contact information which I can use to make changes to my next of kin information or address changes, etc. I will be getting a permanent membership card which has a large phone number emblazoned on the front for my wallet.
It brings you a lot of comfort to know that these things are taken care of in advance and will cover you anywhere you travel. They can send the urn to wherever you designate. If you choose you can pay a cemetery separately to bury your ashes and have a nice headstone installed for anyone who may want something to visit. My mom did just that.

Haven’t actually *used* the preplanned cremation service we purchased from Neptune Society, but I thought I’d post a review of our experience with Louisa, their sales rep.
We competitively priced the preplan option with current at-need pricing for a direct cremation and the prices are competitive. They also offer a true 30 day money back guarantee in case you get buyers’ remorse or find a better option. Louisa did a great job of describing the plan, and the options available. She helped guide us through the paperwork and made it simple. Hopefully, we won’t need to use the plan for a lllooonnnggg time, but it’s nice to know it’s there.

My Mother signed up with Neptune Society as it was her wish to be cremated. After she passed all I had to do was make one phone call to the Neptune Society and everything was handled. They made what would of been the hardest part of a death the easiest. Sarah, who I dealt with was so sweet, nice and again handled everything for us. I myself will be signing up with Neptune so my kids will only have to do what I did, make one phone call and everything is taken care of.
